Trump's remarks may contain 'dog whistles,' fired FBI official McCabe tells 'Real Time' host Bill Maher

Is President Trump sending out “dog whistles” to some of his supporters? That’s what former FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe said he feared Friday night during an appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

Maher had asked McCabe about remarks Trump made to Breitbart News earlier this week, specifically Trump’s claim of having strong support from the nation’s military, police and “bikers.”

“It’s very disturbing and concerning,” McCabe said. “I think he may be overestimating a bit how much support he has from the people and law enforcement and the military. The thing that concerns me the most about statements like that is not is what he means, but what that audience actually hears.”

“Which audience are we talking about?” Maher asked

“So, those folks who are looking for the dog whistle and the coded language,” McCabe responded. “They receive those wildly inappropriate and irresponsible texts and messages and statements and it concerns me how they interpret what they’re hearing.  And they see that as some sort of call to action.”

Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of McCabe’s firing by former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In a Twitter message the following day, President Trump declared McCabe’s ouster “a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI.”

On Friday, McCabe defended his former FBI colleagues and their investigation into Trump’s possible connections to Russia, insisting the work was not done “based on politics.” The former acting director, who will turn 51 on Monday, also defended the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.

“What we found was clearly insufficient to base a request for a charge on,” McCabe said.

Maher also asked McCabe about allegations that Trump had ties to Russian organized crime in the 1990s and had laundered money for Russians.

“It’s entirely possible,” McCabe responded. “I can’t sit here and confirm with you tonight, but it is entirely possible.”

Other guests appearing on Maher’s show Friday included former Tallahassee, Fla., Mayor Andrew Gillum, a Democrat who lost a bid for governor of Florida last year. Just hours before his appearance on Maher’s show, Gillum had been inside a Los Angeles shopping mall when someone reported an active shooter.

“We are out. We are safe,” Gillum tweeted later after authorities determined the reports of a gunman to be unfounded. “This is not normal.”

Gillum’s time as mayor (2014-2018) included at least one highly publicized shooting incident: Last August, an armed suspect entered a Tallahassee venue where a video game tournament was underway and began firing at attendees, killing two of them before killing himself.

‘The View’ host Meghan McCain says her late father would laugh that Trump is ‘so jealous of him’

“The View” co-host Meghan McCain thinks her late father would be amused that President Trump keeps him in the news with on-going attacks via Twitter.

Trump has repeatedly tweeted about John McCain – who died in Aug. 2018 – in recent days, falsely claiming the iconic senator graduated “last in his class” at Annapolis and slamming his role in the Russia investigation.

The president also responded recently to reports McCain and an associate had shared with the FBI and various media outlets the unverified dossier alleging that Moscow held compromising information on Trump – but the outspoken ABC News host thinks her dad would laugh it off.

“If I had told my dad, ‘Seven months after you’re dead, you’re going to be dominating the news and all over Twitter,’” Meghan McCain said on Wednesday. “He would think it was so hilarious that our president was so jealous of him that he was dominating the news cycle in death.”

“The View” co-host then advised viewers not to feel bad for her family despite the president mocking her father on a regular basis.

“We are blessed. We are a family of privilege,” she said. “Feel bad for people out there who are being bullied that don’t have support.”

Meghan also thanked her “View” colleagues for the on-going support when it comes to defending her father. Co-host Joy Behar slammed Sen. Lindsey Graham on Monday for aligning with President Trump over his old friend, saying the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman needs to “find his testicularity.”

Earlier this week, the same topic came up on “The View” and Meghan bashed the president for the Twitter attack on her father.

“He spends his weekend obsessing over great men because he knows it and I know it and all of you know it — he will never be a great man,” she said.

Meghan closed out the rebuke by adding: “I genuinely feel bad for his family. I can’t imagine having a father that does this on the weekends.”

Fox News’ Liam Quinn contributed to this report.

Ray Donovan” star Marion “Pooch” Hall won’t be going to prison after striking a plea deal with prosecutors regarding his DUI and child endangerment charges.

Hall was sentenced to three years of probation and was ordered to complete a three-month residential alcohol treatment program and to attend one year of parenting classes, under the terms of a negotiated plea agreement, the D.A.’s office explained. Additionally, his driver’s license has been suspended for six months.

A spokesperson for the Burbank Police Department told ET at the time of the collision that witnesses reported seeing Hall weaving in and out of traffic with a small child seated on his lap. One witness reported seeing the child’s hands on the steering wheel.

Bhad Bhabie shows off $42G diamond-encrusted Rolex on 16th birthday

Bhad Bhabie just got some serious bling for her 16th birthday.

Danielle Bregoli, of “Cash me outside” fame, celebrated her milestone birthday a little early in New York City on Tuesday with a very pricey gift from her managers Adam Kluger and Dan Roof: a $42,000 diamond-encrusted Rolex watch.

“THANK YOU to my managers since day one,” the fledgling rapper wrote on Instagram, posting a close-up video of her luxe new accessory.

According to TMZ, her custom mother-of-pearl Rolex features a baby pink face, 15.38 carats of VS diamonds over the entire band and 1.5 carats of VS diamonds in the Roman numerals that encircle the face dial. All in all, the Rolex has a reported value of $42,000 and was commissioned from Joel the Jeweler in LA.

The new Rolex should pair nicely with the $45,000 gold grill covered in flawless diamonds and the 14k yellow gold choker-length chain Bregoli scooped up this summer from Houston-based celebrity jeweler Johnny Dang.
