“Like a bullfrog,” Bale quipped. “Or sometimes he’s been described as a walrus.”

He added, “I built up my neck so I felt like I could take anything … I just felt like a bulldozer all day long.”

Bale, who previously dropped to 120 pounds for “The Machinist” in 2004 and put on 30 pounds of muscle for “Batman Begins” a year later, said playing Cheney was “lovely … it seemed almost impossible.”

In December, Bale told Variety of his weight gain for the part, “You’re absolutely just losing all discipline and gorging like crazy. I need to stop it, it’s not healthy for your body. I’m in my mid-40s now, it’s going to start catching up with me if I don’t start being a little bit aware of my mortality.”

“I have almost always enjoyed transformation – mental and physical, sometimes it can be a great help to look in the mirror and not see yourself, in terms of being able to remove yourself from any kind of a character,” he added. “I’m glad I did it, but I think it should be in the past now.”

Jenna Bush Hager honors grandmother, former First Lady Barbara Bush: 'One year without our enforcer'

Jenna Bush Hager marked the one year anniversary of the death of her grandmother, former First Lady Barbara Bush, with a sweet tribute on social media.

Barbara died at age 92 in April 2018 shortly after her family announced that she was in failing health and decided to decline further medical treatment in favor of “comfort care.” Her husband, former President George H.W. Bush died about eight months later.

On Wednesday, the “Today” host took to Instagram to share a photo of her late grandmother along with a touching message reflecting on the year that’s passed without her.

GEORGE AND BARBARA BUSH THROUGH THE YEARS

“Missing you Ganny today and everyday,” the 36-year-old wrote. “One year without our enforcer—hard believe. You made us better and we love you more than tongue can tell.”

Bush Hager previously explained the unique Bush-family phrase shortly after her grandfather died. On Instagram, she shared a touching cartoon from artist Marshall Ramsey and explained that she asked her grandfather about the afterlife shortly before he died. He said he was excited to be reunited with his wife and their daughter, Pauline Robinson “Robin” Bush, who died of leukemia at age three.

Bush Hager explained that her grandfather would repeat a phrase that Robin said before her death, “Love you more than tongue can tell.”

The past year has been more than eventful for Bush Hager, who was recently named the permanent replacement for Kathie Lee Gifford on “Today.” She previously eulogized her grandmother in December with an essay written for Southern Living magazine where she reflected on the first holiday without her grandmother.

Demi Moore penning 'a wrenchingly honest' memoir that details 'tumultuous relationship' with mom, ex-husbands

Demi Moore is set to release a new memoir her publisher says is “deeply candid and insightful.”

Moore’s “Inside Out” is scheduled for Sept. 24, HarperCollins announced Wednesday. According to the publisher, the actress writes openly about everything from her “tumultuous relationship” with her mother, from whom she was long estranged, to her three marriages, among them to Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher.

DEMI MOORE ON HOW SHE REFOCUSED HER LIFE AFTER REHAB: ‘MY RELATIONSHIPS ARE MORE IMPORTANT’

“Throughout her rise to fame and during some of the most pivotal moments of her life, Moore battled addiction, body image issues, and childhood trauma that would follow her for years — all while juggling a skyrocketing career, celebrity status, and raising a family,” HarperCollins announced.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were married from 2005-2013.

“In this emotionally charged memoir, she opens up about her career and personal life — laying bare her defining tumultuous relationship with her mother, her marriages, her struggles balancing stardom with motherhood, and her journey toward open heartedness. ‘Inside Out’ is a story of survival, success, and surrender — as well as resilience: a wrenchingly honest portrayal of one woman’s at once ordinary and iconic life.”

DEMI MOORE OPENS UP ABOUT ‘SPIRALING DOWN A PATH OF REAL SELF-DESTRUCTION’

Moore, 56, was a high school dropout who became a television star in her early 20s on the daytime soap opera “General Hospital” and later starred in such hit films as “St. Elmo’s Fire,” ”Ghost” and “A Few Good Men.” She is also a longtime activist for children’s rights and is the co-founder of Thorn, a nonprofit which combats child sex trafficking.

The deal for her memoir, reportedly worth seven figures, was announced in 2010, when she and Kutcher were still together. Moore announced in 2011 that she was ending the marriage and they divorced two years later. HarperCollins, which originally set a publication date of 2012, declined comment on financial details or whether the breakup with Kutcher contributed to the book’s delay.

The Edinburgh Police Division said officers were called to the incident following a report of a disturbance. When medical officials arrived, they discovered a man “seriously injured in the street and sadly passed away at the scene.” Police said they were treating the man’s death as “suspicious” and are investigating. Anyone with information was asked to contact police. Police did not name the man shot.
